Find Lake Tekapo
Located by the stunning Lake Tekapo in South Island New Zealand. The town is called Lake Tekapo and is a very popular stop off for coaches heading along SH6 from Christchurch to Queenstown.
Facilities
Facilities are of a good standard at Lake Tekapo. There is a good sized and well equiped kitchen, a large dining area and a great reading room which has stunning views over the lake itself.
The bedrooms are spotless and of a good size and there are sufficient bathrooms for all.
Friendliness
A friendly hostel for sure. The dining area features big long tables which encourage socialability. This is no party hostel as well but there is usually a good age range of folks staying there.
No long termers stay here, probably due to the limited supply of work in the area.
Finally
A great location is matched by a pretty good backpackers. 7/10
