Find Sydney central YHA
You rock up at Sydney railway station after avoiding being ripped off by the Sydney Taxi Mafia and you are looking for a hostel. Well just meters away, across one of Sydney's many busy roads lies the huge beast that is the Sydney Central YHA Hostel. The location is actually very good as you can walk into the CBD up Liverpool Street, you are not too far from Glebe and other nice inner city areas yet you are far enough away from the cesspit that is Kings Cross.
Facilities
You want lots of facilities? Well you will be really spoilt for choice in SCYHA! There is a big cafe that serves unexciting food to passer-bys, the homeless, backpackers and other low life. There is a kitchen that is big but you have 900 beds so if everyone cooked at the same time it would be like a cruise ship!
There are internet cafes, travel agencies who are eager to empty your bank account with trips that you don't want to go on, tv and cinema louge that's big enough for at least 0.1% of the hostel and always contains some grumpy old has been who insists on watching ABC news.
The rooms are big, but you would expect that as this is bordering on mid range prices. The air conditioning is sufficiently high enough to ensure that you'll stay outside for as long as possible.
Friendliness
Come on! This place has over 900 beds and you expect it to be friendly just because it is a YHA? It is not actually that friendly and despite the high cost, it still attracts the dreaded long termer who lurks in the corner of the dormitory, taking up more room than they should with their steel capped work boots, huge suit case and bad attitude to anyone actually travelling through.
Finally
Clean and it works well but not friendly . 5/10.
